Things are calming down in my world….
The sex worker festival festival went well - there were so many amazing things going on - I wish I had more time to go to more events. There are exciting things going on in the Sex Worker rights world: like more conversations around intersections between our movement and other social justice movements. And, in the SWOP arena - more emphasis is being put on it being a sex workers for social justice organizations. This means they are doing more work specifically around undoing racism, more….
The Sex Worker Film and Arts Festival was awesome. There were so many amazing films in the film festival (including my friend, Sadie’s). And there were great performances for the closing party on July 22. I am continued to be inspired by the brilliance of people who also happen to be sex workers. I am especially inspired and humbled by Carol Leigh aka Scarlot Harlot, who has put SO much energy into producing the Sex Worker’s Film and Arts Festival…I have never seen anyone give so much support and love for our community as she has- she was everywhere, smiling, and looking fabulous!
